BACKUP TAPES
Through our in-house use of the Index Engines platform, Elijah has the capability to assist our clients with the largest of backup tape projects. Most backup tape data is highly duplicative, largely encompassing the same sets of data backed up at various time intervals. As a result, a vendor who restores tapes one at a time will generate a large volume of highly duplicative data, at a potentially enormous cost.
Elijah, on the other hand, uses the Index Engines platform to index, de-duplicate, de-NIST and filter tape data while it still resides on the backup tapes. Only the data that actually is needed for your matter is restored from the tapes, resulting in significant time and cost savings over the traditional backup tape restoration process.
COST SAVINGS
Backup tapes can accumulate over time, including daily, weekly, monthly and yearly iterations. The amount of duplication can be enormous, as can costs when proceeding with a vendor who only offers tape restoration as a service. Elijah's tape indexing service can represent a considerable cost and time savings over approaches offered by most other providers.
