LIAISONS

The Seventh Circuit E-Discovery Pilot Program has formalized a role that Elijah has been fulfilling for years — the E-Discovery Liaison. The Pilot Program dictates that in the event of disputes over ESI, the parties to the litigation each designate an E-Discovery Liaison for the purpose of meeting, conferring and attending court hearings regarding electronic discovery issues. An E-Discovery Liaison should be prepared to participate in the e-discovery dispute resolution process, be knowledgeable regarding the party’s e-discovery efforts, have reasonable access to those familiar with the party’s electronic systems and capabilities so they can explain and answer questions regarding them, and be knowledgeable about the technical aspects of e-discovery including electronic document storage, organization format issues, retrieval technology and search methodology.

Elijah’s lead E-Discovery Liaison, Andrew Reisman, is a former partner at an Am Law 100 law firm who practiced in litigation and technology law for over ten years. For over seven years thereafter Mr. Reisman has devoted his energy to e-discovery and computer forensic engagements. Mr. Reisman has testified as an expert in e-discovery and computer forensics in both federal and state courts, and has served as an E-Discovery Liaison in litigation pending before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is ideally suited to explain complex issues relating to electronic evidence in a non-technical manner and his reasoned, practical approach to resolving disputes regarding ESI generally result in significant savings of time and cost for his clients. CLEAR COMMUNICATION

For years Elijah has been focused on providing our clients with expert guidance regarding e-discovery issues. We provide a communication bridge between IT professionals, business personnel, counsel and the Court, ensuring that information is conveyed clearly and succinctly. No matter the level of technical knowledge, an e-discovery liaison can be effective only if that information is conveyed in a readily understandable manner. Led by a former litigation partner, Elijah will provide expert guidance in a manner that can be understood by even technology novices.
