ELIJAH can meet digital forensic needs remotely in even the most challenging of environments.
The recent COVID-19 pandemic has made clear the need for digital forensic providers to be able to offer efficient solutions to remotely collect and investigate electronically stored information. ELIJAH has been offering remote digital forensic services since long before COVID-19 disrupted international affairs. We have perfected a defensible approach to remote collections that requires no technical knowledge on the part of our clients or data custodians, with ELIJAH performing all substantive work as if we were in the same room.
Even when not facing a pandemic, ELIJAH’s remote digital forensic data collection services often are the right choice for clients. For the same reason that people text/call/email more often than they meet with others in person, remote forensic collections can reduce the time and expenses associated with travel. Additionally, although ELIJAH maintains strategically placed offices, recent events have made clear that expertise is far more important than physical presence in a digital age. ELIJAH is well positioned to meet clients’ digital forensic needs, whether they are down the street or across the planet.
ELIJAH offers a range of remote digital forensic collection solutions.
For full forensic imaging and targeted collections of traditional computing devices, such as laptops, desktops, servers, and external drives, ELIJAH can send clients encrypted remote collection drives, and perform forensic collections via a secure screen sharing session. Mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets can be more complex, but ELIJAH has developed successful approaches to remote collections of such devices as well. All collected data is transferred securely on drives employing 128-bit or higher AES encryption. ELIJAH also routinely performs remote forensic collection of web-based data, such as emails, cloud storage, and social media accounts, via direct connections between our secure forensic labs and the cloud-based sources. Finally, clients often send devices to ELIJAH’s forensic labs, which we typically can image and arrange for return shipment on the same day the devices arrive.
